HSK Test Centers in Kuala Lampur

There are two HSK test centers at official Confucius Institutes near Kuala Lampur that I recommend: the University of Nottingham at Malaysia and at the University Malaya. There’s another one at the Kunkuan International Mandarin Training Center, which appears to be a private company.

AboutA lot going on here. Great step-by-step test registration guide, exam schedule, and FAQ. If you’re in the area, there’s some HSK pre-test courses you can take. And there’s some scholarships and Chinese camps worth looking into.

AboutI’m not sure about this one. It’s listed on the official Hanban site and there’s an official Confucius site but that’s for the England campus, not Malaysia. I can’t find any proof there’s an actual Confucius Institute here.

The Kunkwan Training Center

This is an interesting situation. The Kunkwan International Mandarin Training Center is a private tutoring and training company. They’re also clearly an HSK test center, which is rare because almost all the HSK test centers I know of are associated with a college or university. I’ve never seen a private HSK test center before. I can’t recommend it but if you’re interested in investigating, the contact email is hsk@kunkwan.com and the best website I could find here.

Test Dates

In case you also want to know when you could take the tests, you can check the official HSK schedule or the official YCT schedule for specific test dates. It’s worth calling up the test center first though. While exams can be offered on those dates, not every HSK test center is willing or able to host all the exams. Sometimes it’s budget limitations, sometimes it’s a competing event on campus, but whatever the reason you definitely want to double-check with them first.

Preparing for the test

We’ve got a ton of great material on preparing for the HSK, including practice tests and reading exercises.

We’ve also got excellent materials for the YCT, including practice tests, writing tests, and listening tests.
